Estate And Planned Gifts
An estate gift to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church is a beautiful, positive response to the Gospel challenge, a gift to your spiritual family. And it can work to your advantage, too. Estate and planned gifts may offer numerous financial advantages to the donor while enhancing his or her capacity to make an exceptional gift to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. 
Where to Start:
  • Talk to your Family - Tell them how you feel about OLPH, and that you want to build your financial legacy with OLPH so it can continue your wishes. If you do not have a financial adviser, we can suggest one for you.

Here is some background information about common types of estate and planned gifts: 
  • Bequests in a Will or Trust - Gifts made by a provision in a will or revocable living trust may be for a stated sum of money or a percentage of your estate. Gifts of property can also be made. If OLPH is already in your will or trust, please let us know so we can include you in the OLPH Legacy Society.
  • Beneficiary Designation - Designating OLPH as a beneficiary provides an easy and affordable way to support the work of OLPH at a future date. By naming OLPH the beneficiary of an individual or group term life insurance policy, your estate could receive an estate tax deduction for the insurance proceeds distributed to OLPH. You can also name OLPH the beneficiary of an IRA, 401(K), or assets from another qualified retirement plan.
  • Gift of Home with Retained Life Estate - You receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction by deeding your home to OLPH while reserving the right to use the property for life. With this type of gift, you could receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction and the value of your home or other property is removed from your taxable estate.
  • Life Insurance - There are several ways to use a life insurance policy to ensure your legacy at OLPH. You can take out a new policy, designating OLPH as the beneficiary; or you can donate a paid-up policy. Both have potential tax benefits.
Restricted Or Unrestricted Gifts
You can designate an area of OLPH you would like to support, or you may leave your gift as unrestricted, trusting OLPH leadership to use your funds in highly beneficial ways. Unrestricted bequests are encouraged because they can be used at the time they are received to benefit an area or program in critical need of financial support. Bequests designated for a particular purpose also are possible and greatly appreciated.
Matching Gifts
Gifts to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church through employer-sponsored matching gift programs make a powerful difference. Corporate workers and their spouses, retirees, board members, and government employees can choose to give through their workplace. By participating in your company’s Matching Gift Program, you can ask your Human Resources office if your workplace has a Matching Gifts program.
