Message from the PastorDear Parishioners,
Today we conclude the Christmas season with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. In the gospels, this marks the beginning of the public ministry of Jesus. Today’s feast is an appropriate day to recall our own baptism in which we were given a share in divine life and made members of the Body of Christ, the Church. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) teaches us: Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives us access to the other sacraments. More information Daily Scripture Readings A great way to learn the Bible and incorporate it into your prayer is to set aside some time each day to reflect on the Scripture readings that are assigned to the daily liturgy. A simple way to do this is to go to the site https:// bible.usccb.org. This service is also available in Spanish at https://bible.usccb.org/es.
Once at the site, you have several options. You can click on the readings for the day and read the texts yourself. There is also a tab for the daily reading podcast in which those Scriptures are verbally proclaimed. Finally, there is a tab for a video, usually about two and a half minutes in length, which presents a variety of speakers offering brief reflections on the meaning of those Scriptures.
